Last weekend, Ryan & I went with our friends Lincoln & Alisia into DC to see the Kite Festival and the Cherry Blossom Festival. It was really fun and such a cool sight! As soon as we got there, Ryan and Lincoln made the attempt to get Ryan's kite up with the rest of the kites...we must have had bad luck with the wind at that moment because it didn't seem to want to stay up. But it was still fun to watch them try and then to take pictures with it!

But really, look how cool of a sight it is to see all these kites flying on the National Mall...
After running into a huge group of Mormons (it really is inevitable at large and free events like this), we went and met Mandy, Trent, Derek and Joni at the spot where the "kite fight" was. Now this was VERY cool. The "kite fight" is where they rope off a big area and there are about 13 big kites that go up in the air and fight until there is only one left. What happens is they fly their kites high in the air and they try to rub their strings against other people's strings and wear them down so they break. Or kites get tangled up in each other and they come down. We all really got into it and we cheered really loud. I had no clue that "kite fights" excited but now I am totally into it!
After we left the kites, Ry & I walked over to the Jefferson Memorial and looked at all of the amazing and beautiful cherry blossoms around the Tidal Basin. It was such a beautiful sight! I absolutely love this time of year in DC, the whole city looks amazing. Everyone should come out next year and see them!!
