2 Month Photos

Bored of our blog yet? Four posts in one day is a lot, I know. Maybe I will have Ryan blog next time since he is quite witty and can keep our readership up. In the meantime deal with me.

Jack is almost 10 weeks. People aren't kidding when they say that time goes fast. The day after we got back from Utah was Jack's 2 month mark so it was time for a photo shoot to show his growth.

We got the lettering right the first time and Jack rewarded me with some of my favorite photos of him so far.

At his 2 month appointment, Jack weighed 12 lb 7 oz and measured 23 1/2" long. Good job Little Man, keep growing! We love him A LOT.

Family Time & Photo Attempts

Since all of the Peterson family was in town, we played as much as possible and it was loud and crazy and fantastic. One of the nights, we all went down to Troy & Jamie's house in Alpine for fun and an attempt at family photos. One of my sister's photographer friends was going to come and take the photos but then this happened...
 

A huge fire started on the mountains above Alpine and it was crazy. My brother's neighborhood was luckily one street away from having to be evacuated so we were able to stay and spend time together and be grateful his house was okay.

I don't know what it is about a fire but all of the adults were standing outside watching for hours. One of the kids even asked what was wrong with all of the adults because they were more interested in the fire than playing on the tramp or with the toys. It was just too fascinating to walk away from.

The photographer was unable to come because of traffic and street closures. Luckily Jenny had her fancy camera and tripod and set up a timer to take a few pics. I think they turned out pretty awesome. If only we could have captured Jenny running back for the picture every time...

I love family time a lot! Especially because the adults in my family are just like kids. I just wish we could get together more often.

Welcome home Mom & Dad!

The biggest reason we went to Utah was for the moment that I have been counting down to for months...my parents came home from their 3 year mission in Argentina! I am so grateful for their service and for the blessings that they brought to our family while they served. They did so many wonderful things and they now have about a zillion missionaries and people in Argentina that discovered what I have known for forever, they are amazing. We are all so happy they are back!

It was so fun to get to introduce Jack to his Nanna and Papa. His middle name comes from his Papa and even though my Dad wasn't so sure it was fair to pass along the name Darwin to another generation, I was happy to name Jack after my fantastic Dad.

Bear Lake

We made our first trip with Jack a few weeks ago to visit family in Utah. Jack was a total rockstar on the plane and got a special gift from the flight attendants...

The first week we were in Utah, we went to Bear Lake with the Bessey clan. It was, as always, awesome.

Jack got to meet all but 4 of his Bessey cousins. He has so many fun cousins to play with when he is older but for now he was just content to get mauled by all of them. We missed the Session kids a lot!

Jack went on his first boat ride and LOVED it. This kid loves being outside and really loves the wind in his face. He also looked like a stud on the boat, just chilling in his car seat. 

Ryan tried the surf board and he was a natural of course. Sometimes I hate him for his athletic ability but then I realize that our kids have a 50% chance of being athletic because of him so I decide to be more grateful.

Most of the time, Jack hung out in the condo or in the shade at the pool. Again, he looked good doing it. 

We went on a beautiful hike to a little lake that had a rope swing. The lake was apparently way colder than Bear Lake, which I find to be quite difficult since I think Bear Lake is frigid. Ryan enjoyed his Tarzan time.

These two cute kids, Braylon and Tesli, loved Baby Jack and were always very helpful to put his pacifier in his mouth and make sure "Baby" was okay. I loved it!

Ryan and Mike are best bro-in-law buddies and cause all sorts of trouble together. Chelsi and I dream of the day that we can live close together so that our hubbies can play more often and keep each other entertained when we want to relax by the pool.  Chul, find us a job in St. George and we will just move in with you guys... :)

To prove that I really was on the trip, here I am with Chelsi and Cami.Vacation is a lot different with a baby but I loved it. Me and Jack got to hang out in the shade a lot and I got the chance to read by the pool...total dream come true for me.

One Month Photo Shoot

This is weeks overdue but I am still milking the "I just had a baby" excuse for as much as possible...

At Jack's one month checkup, he was weighing in at 10 lb 8 oz and measuring 21 1/4" long. The nurse totally shorted Jack an inch on the measurement since she was going practically to the middle of his head to start the tape measure. He is at least 22" lady. Geez. We are assuring him each day that he is not just getting fatter but he is growing in length as well, we don't want him to have a height complex quite yet. 

On June 18th, we went to take Jack's one month pictures and got some great ones. Then we realized (a day later) we are idiots and the letters said "1 months". Hello grammar lessons, we need you.

So the next night, we took some more. Our little man is pretty dang adorable if you ask us.
 

Jack is growing and growing and we love him so much!  More updates of Jack's first trip and all sorts of fun will come soon.
