So it's been awhile

I don't blog often for several reasons:
1) We really don't do much that I think is blog worthy
2) When I do think of blogging, I generally get distracted by the book I am reading, a show I want to watch or looking at other people's blogs that are more exciting
3) It takes so much effort!

Having said all of that, we have been doing things since I last blogged. If you have been curious about what we have been up to, here you go. If not, you can at least get an update and go back to not being curious.

Probably the biggest thing that has happened is that Ryan got a job. I am not sure if I mentioned it in a previous post or not but about the middle of February or so, Ryan finally heard back from the IRS and he was hired. He is now an IRS revenue agent, aka your friendly neighborhood tax collector, aka someone that a lot of people hate. But you shouldn't hate Ryan because he is cute and he really doesn't hate you. Along with getting the new job, he has had to do a lot of training. He went to Atlanta for a month for training. While he was gone, I read A LOT of books and watched a lot of shows. I also got very into this:

Jillian, I thank you for motivating me to work out and for kicking my butt. I highly recommend this workout, I am now a huge fan. I just thought I should give you a shout out on the blog since I regularly talk to the tv while working out, generally saying things like, "you have got to be kidding me!" or "Jillian, I just can't keep moving, I can't breathe."

While Ryan was gone, the cherry blossoms came into full bloom. It is the best (and worst) time of year in DC. It is the best because it is absolutely beautiful and spectacular. I love seeing all of the amazing blossoms everywhere I go. It is the worst because allergies are at the peak and I sneeze a lot and have a permanent raspy voice. The allergies are completely worth it because this is how beautiful everything is...

Ryan came home on my birthday (the IRS planned things so well). I turned 26 and we didn't take any pictures. It was a great birthday and I felt very loved by all of my family and friends that called, texted, e-mailed, and used Facebook to wish me a happy day.

For the last part of my update, Ryan and I got tickets from my office to go on the White House Garden Tour. I have heard of the tour but never really thought of going. But this year I decided it was time. The weather was amazing and I was excited to get out and enjoy it. We got into DC and discovered that the line for the tour was really long but supposedly moving really quickly. We got in line and then just happened to run into our friends Nikki and David Olave. They joined us in line and we went onto the White House grounds. We had never been on this side of the White House so it was fun. The place was packed but we had fun walking around with the Olave's and their friends that were in town visiting.
