But anyway, the wedding was in DC and there was a reception in North Carolina so it was a busy weekend but so fun!

A handsome husband
Last Friday, Ryan's really good friend, John Ivers, got married. Ryan was a groomsman so we had all sorts of festivities to attend and they were all very fabulous and fun. He got to wear a great looking tux and looked very dapper! I mean look at this guy...
Yes, I did make him pose. But let's be honest, he didn't really have to be coaxed since he does have a background in modeling and all. Remember those ZCMI ads? Yep, Ryan was in some of them. One day I will post them for your viewing pleasure.
But anyway, the wedding was in DC and there was a reception in North Carolina so it was a busy weekend but so fun!

Memorial Day Weekend
This year, Memorial Day weekend was amazing. The best thing about the weekend is that Ryan was home! He had been gone for another 5 weeks for training in Atlanta but finished last week and was home just in time for the long weekend. I missed him so I am glad he is home for good!
On Saturday, we went bike shopping and I was so excited! I asked for a bike for my birthday but since Ryan was gone for training, we waited until he got home so he could get one too. After riding a couple of bikes, this is what I chose...

Isn't she awesome? I love it!! The bike guy told me it was an "exercise road bike". Whatever that means. All I know is that my back hurts when I rode the ones with the curved handle things and it didn't hurt when I rode this one. Plus, that sky blue really sold me. It is just so dang cute :)
On Sunday evening, we got to go to the free Memorial Day concert on the west front of the Capitol. Since my boss was out of town, they were kind enough to let me have the tickets. It was a very cool event that had me in tears at several points. What can I say, I am a total baby when it comes to anything patriotic, I get chills and the tears start pouring down. I was so grateful to be there to hear some very powerful stories about our veterans and their families. I am so grateful for all of the men and women who serve in the military. Especially my cousins who are still in, Trevor and Jake, you guys are awesome! Thank you for all you do!

One of the reasons that I was so excited to go was to see these three men in person...
Colin Powell (someone that I REALLY want to meet someday)

Lionel Richie

And most of all...Brad Paisley

It was an awesome event! We had a lot of fun listening to the music and the tributes, plus it was amazing weather so that was a plus. But, do you want to hear a secret? Don't tell Ryan, but I really should have listened to him. He tried to convince me to run over to where Brad Paisley was playing so I could be closer. I got all shy and didn't go...why was I so stupid?? Luckily, my sweet husband jumped up and took pictures. I will just live with my regret and these pictures. Brad, I love you and I am sorry I didn't listen to my husband.
On Monday, we had a pool party with a bunch of our friends from the ward and it was perfect. I love nice weather and I love hanging out by the pool for several hours. We had a barbeque, soaked up the sun, played volleyball in the pool and really just loved our lives.
At the end of the weekend, I just kept wishing that every weekend could be this awesome. To copy my cousin Darci:
Dear Universe, please send me another weekend like that. Love, Me
